Chris Carpenter – Senior Pastor
Chris is the founding pastor at Hope Community Church, which was planted in October of 2010. Chris and his wife, Jean, have currently been married for 18 years, and have one child, Hannah, who is in fourth grade at Alcoa Intermediate School. The Carpenters have lived in Blount County since 2001, when Chris came to help plant and was on staff at River Oaks Community Church in Maryville.
Chris is a sports junkie. His greatest sports passion right now is racing alongside Jean in triathlons and long-distance road races. He loves watching his favorite New York teams, (where he was originally born) the Yankees, Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and Syracuse Orange, come up short in their yearly race for a championship.
But alongside time with his family, Chris’ biggest passion is ministering to the church body, whether it’s teaching on Sunday morning, one-on-one discipleship, or just simply hanging out and enjoying the fellowship with families. “It’s simply a blessing to be able to walk alongside others and encourage them in the life Christ has given us to live.” Email Chris

The Hooie family moved to East Tennessee in 1999 and have lived in Blount County since 2007.

They are also proud puppy parents to Maggie and Aubree. Jamie is Montessori certified and has worked as a preschool teacher, school director, and a nanny. “I love any opportunity to love and teach children of all ages. I can’t think of any greater privilege than sharing the love of Jesus with our youngest churchgoers. I am truly blessed beyond all measure!” Email Jamie
