“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.” – Psalm 42:5
Does it feel like, sometimes, that life is just spinning out of control? That you just can’t get ahead? With life comes turmoil, hard times, some so difficult that you don’t even see a way out. You’re ready to give up. But there is always hope. The question is who do you turn your hope to? Who can bring you through the turmoil of life?
The answer is the Lord Jesus. Hope in God. Through him not only comes salvation, but the ability and strength to persevere through difficult times; the ability to continue striving ahead. Hope in God doesn’t mean your life will be free from turmoil, but free from the bondage that turmoil can bring. A life free from hopelessness.
Find Hope in the strength that God gives.
“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.“ – Lamentations 3:21-23
Do you feel unloved? Do you feel like you are tackling life all by yourself, with no one to support you or guide you? The fact is that’s not true. God’s love for you is there, and it never ends. Through good times and bad, His love never fails. He is a merciful, gracious, and forgiving God. And He continues over and over and over again to lavish His love, grace, and mercy upon His children daily. He is faithful to the end.
We realize this the most when we think of His sacrifice on the cross, giving His life up for ours. You may feel your life is so bad that there is no way God could love you. God is waiting to show you the truth, that He loves you unconditionally, meaning He loves you no matter what your life has been like.

With His resurrection believers in Christ are given new life through faith, a life whose sins have been forgiven, and a life now dedicated to the purpose of glorifying God and spreading the good news of hope to others.

“To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.“ – Colossians 1:27
Ever wonder what life is all about? Is the life you’re living all there really is, and if so, how disappointing? With Christ, the mystery of our lives is revealed. God’s presence comes into your life, literally living in you through the Holy Spirit. That presence assures you (hope) of the future life you will have with Him when He returns, as His Word promises He will.
It’s the promise of not only having Christ living in you now through His Holy Spirit, but living with Christ forever in heaven.

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.“ – Hebrews 10:23
Are you always wondering what’s the next hard thing lingering around the corner of your life? Are you just waiting for something bad to happen again? Our hope in Christ will be challenged daily by the culture of the world you live in and by an enemy, Satan, who wants to steal your worship from God. But God gives you the strength to stand firm and resist the enemy. Hope in Christ is not based on your own strength, but on Him who is always faithful.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.“ – Romans 15:13
Where does your joy come from? In whom does your hope lie? For many in this world, they turn to themselves as the answer. But then why is it that most of those people have no joy, or are hopeless? As you grow in your relationship with the Lord, your hope in who Christ is, the truth of His Holy Word, and the promises of God for now and for eternity, grow as well. With that growing hope comes an everlasting joy and peace that not only becomes obvious to your own life, but for the lives of others to see as well.
